Let it snow

Ah yes, it actually snowed last night. Not as much as we were supposed to get, but enough that I had to go leave early to clear off the car. I don’t mind doing that, I just don’t like when the snow is stuck to the car with a nice layer of ice. Makes it a little difficult to clear it off places like the hood. I had to wait for the engine to warm up a bit before I could attempt to remove the snow. Most of you will ask why I bothered removing the snow from the hood, but it’s a very simple reason: so that it doesn’t blow up on the windshield whilst I’m driving. I learned that lesson very early in my driving life. Kind of like the lesson of remembering to remove the snow from the roof of the car too. I had the whole sheet slide down on the windshield one day while stopping at a red light. That was not fun.

At least snow is pretty to look at, even if it’s not fun to drive through. Be safe everyone, and remember to clear off your hoods & rooves before leaving the driveway! :-)

The frenzy begins

So the Christmas shopping frenzy has begun. I’m now getting followed in the parking lot at the mall by people trolling for a better parking spot (although considering I usually park far away from the door the trollers are not really getting a better spot, but that’s their problem, not mine). I’m being jostled by the hundreds of people wandering the mall looking for presents, and am faced with line ups at the ATM to withdraw some cash. In the past few years I’ve been trying to Christmas shop throughout the year, so that I’m only left with a few presents to buy at this time of the year, so it’s not as bad for me as it used to be. Although this year has been a little more difficult trying to figure out what to buy for my family, but I think I’ve got it all sorted out and just now have to buy them. Thankfully I can get most either online or by going shopping near work at lunch time, so I avoid all the crowds at the mall.

Ah the joys of shopping at Yuletide. J
