Blast from the Past

Whoa, did I ever get a blast from the past this morning! The man in the elevator before me was wearing Polo cologne. Yes, Polo. And yes, it was that strong that I could still smell it after he had left the elevator. Ha ha. I haven’t smelled that in years! I remember way back when that it was all the rage, say in 1986 or 1987, but wow, someone is still wearing it in 2006? Is Ralph Lauren Polo considered a “classic” scent, like Chanel No.5? I’m not sure I would classify it as such, but what do I know about men’s colognes?

(Although I say all this after I triumphantly raided the stock of a perfume store a few weeks ago of their last few bottles of Esprits For My Senses eau de toilette, which they stopped making two years ago, but that’s another story.)
