Yes, it’s true. I have finally moved in to the new apartment, and with the last load of crap that’s sitting in my truck right now, I am officially moved in. Phew. While it was quite cold and windy yesterday (-7 with a windchill of -holycrap), at least there was no snow…which we got today. So the universe was smiling on me yesterday. Even though I had hired movers for my stuff, I still ended up making 4 trips with my truck too. I’m just one of those crazy people that can’t give the movers everything.
Haha, the actual fact is that I needed to see what was left before I could pack up the rest of the odds n’ sods, however at that point I don’t want to delay the movers since they do work by the hour. But all of that is behind me, as I am now officially in the new crib, as my friend Chuck likes to say. I’m in dire need of a manicure, as I’ve chipped & broken all of my nails, I’ve got bandages on two fingers, of course one on each hand, plus my wrist hurts and so does my back, but I’m in baby! I figure I’ll go for a manicure this weekend, and the chiropractor too, might even splurge for a massage too.
So, in case you were wondering what the place looks like, I give you some before and after photos.
I haven’t shown you the kitchen, because it’s pretty boring. It’s a kitchen.
So there you have it!
It’s getting down to the crunch time here at my place, and I can tell you, I can’t wait for it to all be over. I think after this whole experience I’m going to need a massage. Although if I had my own Massage Chair, that would be even better. Wouldn’t have to pay anyone, just sit back and relax and let the chair do its work. While I won’t have my own massage chair at home, I’ll definitely be thinking about going to get a massage. I haven’t had one in a while, probably in well over a year. I used to get them relatively frequently, especially when I had a benefits plan at work. So I’ve still got a few weeks to go now before the package kicks in at work, so no massage for me right now. But if I had one of those Massage Chairs, I’d be all set. Aaah, it is but to dream.
Reminder: This is a sponsored post.
Yes, that’s right, only 6 days left till I move to the new pad, and I’m excited! Of course that means I’ve gotta finish packing up here, and let me tell you, I sure am sick of packing. I’m down to the odds and ends, so it’s a little difficult to sort through. Tonight I’m going to pile up all the boxes in one area, and pile the stuff still to pack in another and see what’s left. But the end is in sight! Yippie.
As most of you know, during the television season, I watch a lot tv. I usually have two or more shows to watch each night (except Saturdays, although there’s at least Hockey Night in Canada which includes two hockey games, so I guess that counts as two shows, right? haha.) But there’s been a writer’s strike for the last several months, and before Christmas most of my shows had run out of new episodes to air. Which means I’ve been exploring other ways to entertain myself. To wit:
And I must say, I thought I would miss my shows, but to be honest, I haven’t. Not at all. Sure, I’m upset when I get a reminder like I did last week, about how 24 was supposed to premiere next week, but I haven’t felt too upset about. Honestly, I tend to get more upset with the lack of shows in the summertime, so forget this dearth of shows.
Speaking of, I should really get back to some sorting/packing activity. Toodles!
My morning so far consisted of getting out of bed, having breakfast, changing into some grubby clothes, and then:
And that was all done in 90 minutes. Whoa, I am a little peckish now, after all that work! Good thing it’s almost lunch time, so that I can refuel and keep going. Hmm, what shall I do this afternoon? I’m at least going to put the clothes to donate into the truck, that way if I see one of those boxes in my travels this week, I can pitch them in. I typically go thru my clothes every spring and fall, or at least I’ve been making an effort to do that over the last 3 or 4 years, so I’ve been able to pare down my closet significantly. Too bad I can’t seem to do that with the rest of my stuff! Oh well, at least I’m doing it now.
