Do You Know What Time It Is Right Now
Today we made the switch to Daylight Savings Time, three weeks earlier than normal. I’ve always hated this time change, because while I like the fact that it’s lighter out later in the day, it’s brutal suffering through it in the morning. Especially today, when it’s sparklingly sunny outside. Quite the sharp contrast to yesterday, where I could barely see across the street for all the snow blowing around. For those of you not in the eastern half of Canada, St. Catharine’s and Kitchener got 50 cms of snow, Toronto (including the downtown, where I am) got 30cms, Kingston (where my sister is) got 15 cms, and Ottawa 49cms. The storm is continuing eastward, and the Maritimes are now bearing the brunt of this storm. For us to actually get 30cms of snow downtown means it was a tremendous storm. I hunkered down with some food, some beer and a pile of DVDs, and watched tv all day.
Today dawned blue skied & sunny, so it’s time to get a move on to other things…except I can’t remember what time it is. Thankfully my alarm clock is one of those self-regulating ones, so I didn’t have to change the time before going to bed, but still, it was rather shocking to wake up at 8:45am, but feeling like it was 7:45am. Another bit of good fortune is that I actually went to bed “early” last night, at about 10:45, so waking up “early” this morning wasn’t so bad. I am surprised that I was that tired that early on a Saturday night, but I was. I was actually having trouble keeping my eyes open whilst watching tv. So I just decided to bag it in and go to bed.
And now it’s almost 11am, and I’ve done two loads of laundry, made my bed, taken out the trash and put up some new curtains in my bedroom. (Had to go with the more expensive ones as they blocked the sunlight more. Too bad, as I preferred the cheaper ones, and they were quite cute too. *sigh* Oh well, back to Ikea they go tomorrow.)

Wher e did you get thoses stats? I looked and couldn’t find them! But fyi, we must have gotten more than 15cm. the driveway was way deeper than that. This was worse than the 20 cm we got a few weeks ago….
I was so excited this morning. It was so pretty outside, but then I love being woken up by the sun. I’m heading back out for another walk (I went out for 2 hours this morning). How I do love the snow! I was not happy that it affected my date yesterday, but I am happy with it today.
It’s Friday and I finally just adjusted to the time change, good thing it wasn’t a really busy week this week, except for Abby being sick that is…
