Another penny for the pile
Go check out the Change Challenge page, as I made a find on the weekend! That was very exciting, given that neither of us has been finding much change lately. And it’s not that I haven’t been looking either. I’m finally in the habit of looking down on the ground as I walk, but it appears that us Big Smoke-ians don’t drop as much change as our ‘Merican bretheren.

Find a penny pick it up
I found a penny last night. Yes, that wouldn’t normally be cause for celebration, but considering I’d gone almost three weeks without finding anything, I thought it worthy of a separate post here. Melanie & I are not doing so hot in our Change Challenge, as I think we couldn’t even buy a pack of gum much less something more fun with our found money. haha.

Found some change on vacation
Okay, so not many posts whilst I’m on vacation, since I’m not always at the computer, but I wanted to tell you of the Change Challenge update: Melanie found two pennies last week, and could have increased her total even more with a pile of pennies she saw on the ground, but unfortunately she was in her car at a stop light, and so she couldn’t go grab them. She had to drive by. I found 10 Euro cents on the first day of my vacation, but as we hadn’t decided if we were counting foreign change or not, I decided not to count it towards my total. But it was still fun to find, because it took me a few minutes to figure out how much moolah it was. I’m not used to the Euros, as the last time I came to Italy they were still using the Lira (yes, it’s been that long).
More updates after I get back, with lots of photos too, as we’re having lots of fun with the relatives. We’re eating our way around town and through our menu of favourite Italian things, which is good. We’re also taking some day trips here & there, which is also fun. But with three small kids under the age of 5, it’s a little difficult to go much farther than that. That’s okay though, cuz we’re having lots of fun with them as well.
My sister & I managed to snag a whack-load of free yarn too, as my aunt had a ginormous stash in one of her closets, and it had been sitting there for almost 15 years. She said at least this way it was staying in the family.
The pictures of that were quite amusing, especially because I got all dusty searching around, and my sister was all worried about the rickety ladder I was standing on, especially because I was using the “this is not a step” step. ,-)

Another penny!
I found another penny today whilst wandering down Yonge Street. I was hesitant to actually pick it up, given the how scuzzy the sidewalk is on Yonge Street, but decided to pick it up in the interest of the contest. Go check out the Change Challenge page and see how the tally’s going.
